HVACR 2008 - 5th regatta

HVACR 2008 - 5th regatta

Between 12th and 14th of September this year the 5th HVACR regatta was held in Wilkasy near Giżycko. It was participated by representatives of the ventilation and air conditioning trade from all over Poland. 25 crews facing cold and sometimes rainy weather on the Niegocin lake in the Mazurian region took part in the event and the jury was led by Mr Jan Kurowicki.

On the first day of the competition three planned races were carried out. Till midday the wind conditions were moderate nevertheless some of the crews had to be hauled away to the shore due to the risk of capsizing. In the second half of the day weather conditions changed for worse as rain and cold made themselves more and more felt. However that did not prevent either the competitors from fighting for victory or the spectators from cheering for their companies. On the second day weather allowed the competitors to start another three races and determine the winners. The KLIMA-THERM crews took the following places:

17th place – the crew of Michał Zalewski
18th place – the crew of Michał Szarkowski
22nd place – the crew of Dariusz Wójcik
25th place – the crew of Rafał Czyż

During the competition numerous viewers had a chance to admire the sailing battles from the board of a ship named Olimpia. The weekend HVACR Cup 2008 regatta held in the AZS centre in Wilkasy gathered over 250 spectators.

We would like to thank all crews for their fierce battles and all spectators for their warming cheers!
