As in the previous years, this year as well, between 23rd and 24th March 2010, KLIMA-THERM S.A. took part in the Engineer Job Fair organized by Warsaw Polytechnic.

Every year the fair organized by students preparing to face the job market attract more and more interest among both students and exhibitors. Over 10 000 students visited the main lecture theatre to see the stands of 68 companies. Students show much activity, involvement and creativity when it comes to presenting their candidacies to their potential employers. This year the most popular were multimedia presentations and even short movies including candidates’ CVs – all geared towards raising as much employers’ interest as possible and get a dreamed position.
‘It is very promising that young people are more and more conscious while choosing their future employers’ – states Anna Sierant, the HR Director in KLIMA-THERM S.A. ‘They are interested in companies, gather information from the Internet, folders and promotional materials, are able to get involved in interesting and conscious discussions with employers during fairs. Their arguments are frequently very substantive which forms an additional asset during a direct meeting and an opportunity to verify the candidate directly on a particular exhibition stand. Our stand on the job fair was supported by our Product Engineer that brings technical details of our offer closer to any potential candidate. As an exhibitor we have participated the job fair on all major technical universities in Poland for some years now. Due to such direct encounters with students we can recruit trainees and apprentices who gain first professional experience in our company. Some of them stay with us as regular employees. It constitutes a valuable source of company staff and guarantees high flexibility at times of increased seasonal workforce demand during at peak summer periods.’ – she says.

This year the tradition and prestige of one of the biggest fair attracted not only students of Warsaw Polytechnic but also other technical universities including SGH, WAT, SGGW or PJWSTK. ‘This year we received a record number of applications from people interested in our company, which is even more pleasing that we are identified as a dynamic and modern company and regarded by students as one of the companies offering the most friendly working environment for young engineers and highest development potential. We came 15th in the overall number of 68 exhibitors in the ‘Employer for an Engineer’ competition’ – Anna Sierant states proudly. Along with the changing job market and increased demand for engineering staff in the future the KLIMA-THERM’s decision to cooperate with technical universities, also in the context of supporting scientific circles, prepared technical trainings and offered traineeships, seems to be a key to success for both sides.
